Tottenham fans have taken to Twitter to react after Serge Aurier uploaded some 16-second footage of Steven Bergwijn to Instagram.

The video in question shows the Spurs No.23 hitting a punching bag in training, albeit in lethargic style.

Bergwijn can be seen limply prodding the bag, without putting much force behind his punches.

Aurier then flips the camera back to himself, where he can be seen smirking at the £26.7 million forward’s efforts.

It doesn’t reflect too well on Bergwijn, although we don’t have the whole story.

The 12-cap Netherlands international may well have been hitting the bag for ages, and was just finishing up his session with tired arms.

However, if Aurier was filming him at the start of his boxing session, then you could say he should be putting more effort in.

Sadly, the 23-year-old has endured a difficult season under José Mourinho.

Bergwijn hasn’t scored a goal in 30 appearances this term, although he does have six assists to his name.

At 23, the Dutchman still has plenty of time on his side to have a great career in a Tottenham shirt.

We can’t dismiss the fact that it’s his first full season in England, during a global pandemic, and he’s only just 23.

Let’s see what the Tottenham fans on Twitter have been saying about the 16-second footage…
