Speaking on the Sky Sports Football YouTube channel, Luke Ayling has been raving about Leeds striker Patrick Bamford’s pace.
The Leeds United pair were playing a game where they had to answer a number of true or false questions, and they were asked if Ayling was faster than Bamford.
Surprisingly, Ayling admitted that Bamford is actually quicker than him.
“Pat, Pat is quick, when Pat gets going he can shift,” Ayling said.
Bamford then said that his speed is underrated by a number of people, including some of his managers throughout his career.
“People underrate my speed you know, I get mugged of for my speed by a lot of managers as well, I think it’s because my running style is a little bit odd, but I’d say I’m up there with the top three in the club,” Bamford said.
This is certainly interesting to hear.
Leeds have some speedsters in their squad with the likes of Ian Poveda, Raphinha, Jack Harrison and Ezgjan Alioski, but Bamford believes he’s amongst the quickest.
To be fair, Bamford never struggles to keep up with Leeds’ attacks, and while he doesn’t have the most conventional running style, he’s no slouch by any means.
