Liverpool fans have reacted on Twitter to a rumour that Jordan Henderson could extend his contract at the club.
The Mirror claim that with two years left on Henderson’s deal, he is in talks to extend his stay on Merseyside.
If that’s the case then it could see the 31-year-old end his career at Liverpool.
Henderson has been on Merseyside for ten years now and Liverpool fans still want to see more from the £16 million player.
A Premier League title-winner and a Champions League winner, it seems as though the Liverpool faithful want Henderson to add more trophies to their cabinet.
And some find it fitting that he could kick his final ball in their colours whether that’s tomorrow, in five years, or much longer than that.
Whatever happens, the Englishman will go down as one of their greats and the captain who brought home the title.
It was Henderson who lifted aloft the Premier League trophy two seasons ago as the Reds became English champions for the first time in 30 years.
And that’s something that won’t be forgotten by those at Anfield.
There’s no reason why Henderson’s game time should reduce because he still has plenty more to give.
But one thing is for sure, he is becoming more valuable off the pitch as he is on it.
