Director says £35m Tottenham and Liverpool target Suso is available

Liverpool and Tottenham are reported admirers of Suso.

AC Milan director Massimiliano Mirabelli has admitted for the first time Spanish attacker Suso could leave the club.

Mirabelli was quoted by Football Italia discussing Suso’s release clause, and says that Milan will not put up a fight if it is met, insisting it is down to the player.

He said: “We want to keep Suso, but he has to have the same desire. If Suso, or anyone else, no longer wanted to wear this jersey, it’d be only right to take an offer into consideration.

“I am generally against release clauses, but his agents made a very specific request and so we’re keeping it there. If he wants to go, then he can.”

Calciomercato reported earlier this month Suso’s release clause is 40 million Euros (£35 million).

Liverpool sold Suso in 2015, and he has become a regular starter for the Rossoneri.

Calciomercato had claimed in January that Liverpool were considering a move for the attacking midfielder, while the same outlet reported Tottenham Hotspur’s interest weeks earlier.

Suso has scored six goals in Serie A this season and provided five assists.

He was more disappointing in the Europa League, scoring once in seven games and failing to shine in Milan’s defeat to Arsenal.

Tottenham moved for Lucas Moura in January while Liverpool’s attack is so fearsome Suso may struggle to get into their starting XI.

Suso is still only 24 and provided more goals and assists than any Milan player last season.

If Liverpool or Tottenham do believe he can add to their squad and is worth the fee, this summer appears to be the time to strike.
