Peter Bosz has told Goal that he felt Liverpool target Kai Havertz didn’t actually have his best game against Werder Bremen.

Havertz scored twice for Leverkusen, as they picked up the three points in a 4-1 victory.

His performance was watched closely by many Liverpool fans, who are eager to see the 20-year-old signed.

But, despite the brace, Bosz felt that Havertz could actually have performed much better.

“Kai [Havertz] is a special player, but I don’t think he played his best game today. He can do much better.

“I’ve known him for a long time now and I know he can do much better. It has to do with the rhythm. But for every player the captain’s armband is something special. And so it will be for Kai.”

Liverpool are said to be very interested in Havertz by Oktob.

It is claimed by Independent that Liverpool would have to pay £80 million for land the Leverkusen’s forward this summer, but he could still be an appealing addition.

Havertz has now hit eight goals in the Bundesliga this term, and his performance have made him one of the most sought after players across European football.
