Speaking on the Premier League’s YouTube channel, Che Adams has been raving over Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk.
The Southampton striker has named van Dijk as the hardest defender he’s ever come up against, and we simply can’t argue with that point of view.
Sadly, Adams arrived at Southampton after van Dijk had already departed, but he says that his Saints teammates still have good things to say about the Liverpool star.
“Van Dijk. Like I’ve said many times he’s the hardest player and hardest defender I’ve ever played against in the Premier League. I just think he’s got everything you know. Pace, passing, strength, you name it, defending. He can do anything and obviously he was at Southampton and the boys said that at times he just found it too easy,” Adams said.
The Scotland international certainly isn’t wrong about van Dijk.
The Dutchman genuinely has all of the attributes you could want in a footballer. He’s strong, he’s smart, he’s fast and he’s brilliant on the ball.
Sadly, we’ve not seen him play all that much football this season due to a long-term injury he suffered against Everton.
Fingers crossed van Dijk will be back to his brilliant best sooner rather than later.
