Since the start of 2021, Tottenham have been involved in a number of managerial changes, and a familiar face in the Premier League could be next.

Amid talk of Antonio Conte joining Paris Saint-Germain, the Telegraph have claimed that Brighton’s Graham Potter is an option for Daniel Levy.

Spurs would have to pay £10m in compensation to lure the 46-year-old away from the Amex Stadium.

If he arrives in N17, then the chances of Tottenham signing one target in particular will surely increase.

What’s the story?

Well, according to TuttoJuve, Spurs are interested in signing Brighton defender Marc Cucurella, who the Seagulls signed for £15m back in August.

If Potter does take the reins in north London, we’d imagine he would like to bring the Spain international with him, based on his comments.

As quoted by Brighton’s official website, the Seagulls boss said: “His contribution has been brilliant on and off the pitch. He has settled in really well, the way he plays the game is so refreshing. He brings energy to the team, but I thought the whole team performance was amazing, and I don’t want to single anyone out as the team were fantastic.”

So far this season, Cucurella has made 36 appearances in all competitions, providing two assists.

Tottenham should ignore Marc Cucurella

In our view, Spurs should ignore a move for the 23-year-old, and put their trust in Ryan Sessegnon instead.

Tottenham invested a lot of money – and faith – in the 21-year-old when signing him from Fulham in a £25m deal back in 2019.

However, Sessegnon – who Gary Lineker rates highly – has struggled to impose himself at Spurs, perhaps due to a number of managerial changes.

So far, the England Under-21 international has experienced a range of different styles while playing under Mauricio Pochettino, José Mourinho, Nuno Espirito Santo and Conte.

Sessegnon – who Jermain Defoe also admires – was doing well earlier in 2022, but an untimely hamstring injury stunted his progress.

With a full pre-season under his belt, the Tottenham No.19 could shine in the Premier League next term.
