Jordan Henderson is about to make history for Liverpool.
The England international will next week become the first Reds captain to ever lift the Premier League trophy.
Liverpool cruised to the title this season to become champions of England for the first time in 30 years, since before the Premier League even began.
Alan Hansen was skipper for the Anfield club back in the 1989-90 campaign and Henderson is quite rightly being praised for his performances this season.
The former Sunderland star has done a magnificent job in Liverpool’s engine room but, according to one team-mate, he’s so much better than most people even know.
Andy Robertson has told The Echo that he was blown away by the 30-year-old’s technical ability when he first joined the club, claiming that he is very ‘underrated’ in this regard.
The Scot said: “Technically he is one of the most underrated players I’ve ever worked with. People never question his hard work and all that, but when I first went into Liverpool he blew me away. Hendo technically is expectional.”
Henderson is sadly injured and won’t play again this season, but he’ll lift the trophy in the Kop next Wednesday following the visit of Chelsea on Merseyside.
Jurgen Klopp’s side will be hoping to bounce back from a disappointing 2-1 defeat by Arsenal in midweek.
