The West Ham United midfielder remains an important part of Manuel Pellegrini’s plans.
West Ham boss Manuel Pellegrini spoke to reporters after his side’s 2-2 draw with Brighton and Hove Albion last night, and responded when asked how important Mark Noble is to the football club, as quoted by Football.London.
The Hammers skipper is the club’s leader both on and off the pitch, and he has enjoyed a fairly successful campaign so far this season from a personal perspective.
At 31, Noble is entering the twilight years of his career, but it is clear to see that he still has plenty left to offer West Ham.
His ability to dictate the tempo of the game from a deep-lying position will not be an easy thing to replace, but Pellegrini doesn’t believe he will have to do that anytime soon.
The Chilean spoke to reporters, and insisted that the Canning Town-born midfielder still has plenty of years in front of him playing at the highest level, as quoted by Football.London:
“31 is not old, he has a couple of years more, renewed his contract and was one of the players I wanted to rest. He continues to be captain, his personality is important for this club on the pitch and off it because Mark is always giving the best of himself.”
Noble will be hoping to play a key role for West Ham during the second half of the season, and help his side finish inside the top seven.
The midfielder is undoubtedly approaching the end of his career, but judging by Pellegrini’s comments, he still has plenty left in the tank.
