Leeds United finally secured their first win of the Premier League campaign after Diego Llorente lead the Yorkshire side to a 1-0 victory against Watford.
The Spanish defender scored the sole goal of the game as Marcelo Bielsa brought Leeds’ awful Premier League start to an end over a Hornets side that have been impressive this campaign.
Llorente has been out of action since picking up a hamstring injury against Liverpool, but the Leeds star returned with a vengeance this weekend as the centre-back poked in from a corner to give the hosts the win.
Leeds had failed to win a single game this season up until this point. The Elland Road club drew to the likes of Burnley and Newcastle as well as suffering losses to West Ham and Everton.
Indeed, it has by all accounts been a terrible start to the season. Leeds were thrilling to watch last campaign, yet this year has been a different story for Bielsa’s side.
But this win over Watford will reduce the pressure for Leeds, and Llorente was the player on everyone’s lips come full-time. The Spanish centre-back was impressive last year, and supporters are eager to see more from the former Real Madrid academy player.
