Morgan Gibbs-White insists he’s remaining humble after rave reviews of recent performances for the newly promoted side.

The 18-year-old has come off the bench six times in the Premier League this season, and looks more than at home in England’s top tier.

Gibbs-White has been an extremely high performer for the Wolves youth teams, leading to his debut for the club as a 16-year-old in 2017, coming on as a substitute in a 2-0 win over then Premier League side Stoke City in the FA Cup.

Gibbs-White has been with Wolves since he was eight-years-old, with the crowd at Molineux proudly labelling him as “one of their own”.

The central midfielder has been linked with the likes of Liverpool in the past, according to the Sun, and if he continues his upward trajectory, it won’t be long before the big clubs start circling again.

However, Gibbs-White signed a new deal in January 2018 to stay with the club, with his latest contract running until 2022.

It would be normal for Nuno Espirito Santo’s young prodigy to allow the recent fame and attention to get to his head.

However, Wolves’ local lad has told the Wolves official twitter account that his feet are remaining firmly on the ground.

“I grew up in these changing rooms. It’s like my home,” Gibbs-White said.

“I’ve had hard times, tough times, but I’m glad to say that I’ve made it. It’s important that I stay humble as a young player as I think it will help me go further in my career and help my professionalism.

“If I let it get to my head then it just shows that it’s nothing.”

Gibbs-White’s temperament is one of his finest qualities, with the youngster performing exceptionally well, particularly when coming on in the last half hour of the game against Tottenham Hotspur.

3-0 down at the time, Gibbs-White added an energy and technical quality to the Wolves side, shown with his three completed dribbles and one key pass.

The midfielder’s driving runs forward, and eye for a pass were a major factor in Wolves’ almost spectacular turnaround as they clawed two goals back but ran out of time before they could find an equaliser.

There is a wealth of young English talent coming through the ranks at clubs now, and Gibbs-White is certainly a player everyone should be keeping an eye on.
