Bournemouth striker Callum Wilson should be a priority signing for Wolves.

Wolves have hit a stumbling block after a good start on their return to the Premier League. However, Callum Wilson would get them firing again.

Nuno Espirito’s side have won only one out of their last five Premier League games, and have fallen down to 11th, despite positive results against last season‘s top two, Manchester City and Manchester United.

Whilst it is by no means a disastrous return to England’s top tier, the Wolves owners have high ambitions at Molineux, and to eventually break the top six stranglehold, a top class striker will be high on the list of priorities.

Bournemouth striker Wilson has made an outstanding start to the season, highlighted with a debut goal for England in last night’s 3-0 victory over the USA at Wembley.

The Cherries’ star man is the Premier League’s joint third highest goalscorer so far this season with six, and has also contributed four assists.

Raul Jimenez is Wolves’ top scorer in the league however with only three goals, one of them being a penalty in a 3-2 loss at home to Tottenham Hotspur.

Wilson has proven this season what an outstanding striker he is.

Capable of playing in a two, or leading the line on his own like he did for the Three Lions’ last night, he has all the attributes to be a resounding success at a club looking to become one of the biggest in Europe.

Wilson is a fantastic finisher, and can get in behind with his pace.

He is also able to play with his back to goal and link play due to his size and strength and would suit Wolves’ one up top, 3-4-3 formation perfectly.

Nuno Espirito Santo the head coach

Of course, Wilson’s Bournemouth are currently four points and five places above newly promoted Wolves, so may question if a move to Nuno’s side is much of a step up.

However, the ambitions at the Midlands club far outweigh those on the South Coast, and there is a strong feeling that it won’t be long before Wolves are truly competing with the big boys for honours and Champions League places.

There is no question Wolves need a marquee striker if they are to ever make that step up, and Wilson would be a fine choice.

It would be a proposition the striker should certainly consider as well.
