Ryan Fraser has enjoyed a fantastic start to the season, and should be recognised as one of the league’s best.

Bournemouth have made a terrific start to the season under Eddie Howe, and Ryan Fraser is a big part of that.

The Scottish winger has six Premier League assists so far, more than any other player in the division.

It is already twice as many as he managed in the whole of last season, and should he continue with these performances, it won’t be long before the big clubs start circling.

Fraser also has three league goals for the Cherries, who are defying all odds this season as they currently sit in sixth place above the likes of Manchester United.

The 24-year-old wide midfielder is an extremely creative and direct player, who is happy to go on the outside and inside of his man.

He is ideally suited to Eddie Howe’s expansive and attractive brand of football which encourages technical players who are brave and aggressive with the ball at their feet.

According to WhoScored, this is shown with Fraser’s average of 2.8 key passes per Premier League game, highlighting a player who can effect a match.

Although Fraser’s average of 0.8 dribbles per league game is relatively small, his low centre of gravity and powerful physique make him extremely difficult to stop when he is running at players with the ball.

Fraser is also an excellent set piece taker, able to get curl and dip onto his deliveries.

The Scottish international has been one of the league’s best performers this season, but is rarely spoken about in the same breath as some of the divisions other wide play-makers.

Fraser is also performing on the international stage this season, with one goal and three assists in two Nations League games for Scotland, proving he can deliver on a big stage for his country.

If Fraser can continue on this upward trajectory for the remainder of this season, Bournemouth can expect big money bids to come their way for the mini magician, and would rightfully be recognised as one of the top tier’s best attackers.
