Tottenham produced a remarkable performance to beat Real Madrid on Wednesday night.

Micky Hazard has applauded Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane on Twitter after his Real Madrid side proved powerless to stop Tottenham Hotspur on Wednesday night.
Spurs booked their place in the last 16 of the Champions League with a comfortable 3-1 victory at Wembley, thanks to a brace from Dele Alli and a tidy finish from Christian Eriksen before Cristiano Ronaldo scored late on.

Zidane told Sky Sports after the loss that his Real Madrid side came up against a better team in the form of Tottenham, and addressed Real’s apparent lack of goals.
“In terms of the opposition, we came up against the better team, in general, all aspects they were superior,” Zidane said. “But in general I’m not worried about lack of goals. We need to show we have experience, we are full of champions and we need to change the run we are in.
Tottenham icon Hazard quoted Zidane’s tweets on his personal Twitter account, commending the Frenchman for his humility following the defeat.

The win sees Spurs improve on last season’s showing in the Champions League, where they failed to qualify from the group stage and were instead knocked out of the Europa League by Belgian side Gent.
Spurs’ focus will now look towards Sunday after the remarkable feat of beating one of Europe’s best sides, as they face Crystal Palace at Wembley in what is a crucial match as they look to keep pressure on at the top of the Premier League table.
