James Forrest, Kieran Tierney, Callum McGregor are former Celtic midfielder and manager David Hay’s picks.

The former Celtic midfielder and manager has stated that winger James Forrest, left-back Kieran Tierney and midfielder Callum McGregor have been excellent for the Glasgow giants so far this campaign.

“But I think that these three have been excellent this season,” Hay wrote in The Glasgow Evening Times about Forrest, Tierney and McGregor.
“All three have come through the academy system at Celtic as we know but we have seen is a willingness to keep learning and improving and they have lifted it a level again this season. “

It is hard to argue against Hay’s claim, as Forrest, Tierney and McGregor all are playing well at the moment.
The return to Celtic on another loan deal from Manchester City of Patrick Roberts in the summer transfer window has only spurred 26-year-old Forrest to raise his game, while McGregor, 24, has established himself as a key figure in manager Brendan Rodgers’s midfielder.
Tierney has been universally hailed for his performances so far this season, and rightly so.
The 20-year-old Scotland international left-back, who has also operated as a central defender at times this season, is one of the best young players in his position in Europe.
