Everton fans have taken to Twitter to reveal their admiration for Dominic Calvert-Lewin after he removed his hat when meeting Gareth Southgate.
England’s official Twitter account captured the moment on Tuesday afternoon, in which the in-form Toffees striker met the Three Lions boss.
After watching that moment, the Everton fans on Twitter were left beaming at the respect on show from the ex-Sheffield United marksman.
A heartwarming moment can also be heard, in which Calvert-Lewin reveals the old-fashioned flat cap is his Grandad’s after Southgate describes it as ‘nice’.
If any player in England deserves this moment right now, it’s probably the Sheffield-born goal-getter.
No player in the Premier League has scored more than Calvert-Lewin’s tally of six so far – he’s level at the top of the scoring charts with Tottenham’s Son Heung-min.

In all competitions, Everton’s No.9 has hit nine goals, having netted a hat-trick against West Ham in the Carabao Cup.
Calvert-Lewin is in the form of his life, and it could be argued judging by the aforementioned ten-second clip that he has a lot of respect for Southgate and wants to impress the England boss.

If he can replicate anything near his club form for the Three Lions, then he could presumably be lining up alongside Harry Kane at the European Championships.
That’s something he probably wouldn’t have dreamed of last season.
Let’s see what the Everton fans on Twitter have been saying…
