According to a report from The Sun from back in December, West Brom are interested in a potential January move for Huddersfield winger Rajiv van La Parra as Alan Pardew looks to try and drag the Baggies away from danger in the Premier League.

Despite winning their most recent game 2-0 against Brighton, West Brom still find themselves second-bottom in the top flight, two points off safety, and scoring goals has certainly been one of the main problems.

Pardew’s men have scored 18 times in 23 league games, so it is little surprise that the Baggies are keen to strengthen their options in attacking areas – and van La Parra is one player that they appear to have their eye on.

The Sun reported at the time that West Brom were hoping that £5 million would be enough to seal the deal, and perhaps it may be fair to suggest that their hopes of signing the winger have now received a boost in recent days.

Huddersfield recently signed Alex Pritchard from Norwich City for a fee of £14 million, according to the Daily Mail, and given that they play in similar positions, perhaps it may not be out of the question to suggest that the Terriers will be more willing to consider a potential deal for van La Parra if West Brom do come in.

West Brom will be hoping to make it back-to-back wins in the league for the first time since August when they take on Everton on Saturday, while Huddersfield will be looking to bounce back from their 4-1 home defeat to West Ham when they take on Stoke.
