Tottenham Hotspur were reported to be tracking Matteo Guendouzi before he signed for Arsenal.

Arsenal completed their fifth summer signing this week when they landed Matteo Guendouzi from Lorient.
Their spending spree is in contrast to rivals Tottenham, who have done nothing.
Not rivalling Arsenal for Guendouzi could be a decision they come to regret.
Tottenham have been linked with a move for the France under-20 international for two years now.
They were first said to be tracking Guendouzi 13 months earlier, when Footmercato reported their interest.

The 19-year-old is viewed as an exciting prospect and it seems Tottenham did the hard work in terms of scouting him and being aware of his talent.
Arsenal were the ones to take the gamble, and now Spurs will go up against him… while still needing to find a successor to Dembele.
Time will tell if Tottenham have just dropped a clanger by failing to land Arsenal’s newest star.
