Tottenham Hotspur had reportedly agreed terms with Sampdoria forward Patrik Schick.

According to a report in Calcio Mercato, Patrik Schick will only leave Sampdoria if he is to receive first-team football.
Schick has been linked with a number of different clubs, ahead of the summer transfer window.
However, the 21-year-old does not want to block his progress by becoming a back-up choice.

And that could be a blow for Tottenham Hotspur, who had been leading the way for the forward.
Spurs had been tracking Schick, who has a £21.5 million release clause in his contract (The Sun), for some time, with Mauricio Pochettino believed to be keen to bring the Czech Republic international to North London.
And Tottenham were even thought to have agreed personal terms with Schick’s agent (Il Secolo XIX).
However, Schick’s demands to be first-choice surely make a Tottenham move difficult.
No striker will come to Spurs to take Harry Kane’s place in the first-team, meaning whoever Pochettino signs to play up-front will have to be content to start as back-up.

And if Schick isn’t prepared to take a covering role, then Spurs may have to look elsewhere.
