Tottenham Hotspur boss Jose Mourinho has told Football London that he intends to ask Dele Alli whether he is ready to contribute tonight.
Tottenham head into their game against Everton with Alli potentially available for selection.
The attacking midfielder has been out injured of late, but did return to training recently.
And Mourinho wants to know whether Alli feels capable of making an impact off the bench.
“Can he play tomorrow? Well, he’s not injured but I’m not sure he can,” Mourinho said.
“Can he help us? I believe he can. In terms of having Dele on the bench to come for a few minutes to try to help the team, is that possible? I have to speak with him but I believe he can.”
Alli’s return does look like a major boost to a Tottenham side, who haven’t shown much spark in attack recently.

Spurs did improve after Harry Kane’s return at the weekend, but before that they had looked stifled.
Alli’s ability to improvise should help in that regard, especially as Mourinho sounds far more open to playing the England international than he has been at any other point this season.
Alli is unlikely to start this evening, but he could still play an important role from the bench, in what looks in an intriguing tie at Goodison Park.
