Speaking on The Done Deal Show, CBS Sports journalist Ben Jacobs has been discussing Raphinha’s future and Chelsea’s interest in the Brazilian.
The Blues made an offer for Raphinha late last month, and while it was thought that a move was close at one point, Barcelona’s ongoing interest has complicated things.
Chelsea continue to wait in the wings on this deal, and while Raphinha would seemingly rather join Barca, according to Jacobs, Leeds would rather sell their star man to Chelsea.
Indeed, according to the journalist, Leeds are keen to do a deal with Chelsea as they have been very impressed with how Todd Boehly has approached this deal.
What’s been said?
Jacobs spoke about Raphinha and how Boehly has impressed Leeds.
“Well Chelsea’s offer is still there and Raphinha have a decision to make and Leeds would rather sell to Chelsea despite the fact the fanbases and the clubs have a history and an edge,” Jacobs said.
“I have to say that Todd Boehly really impressed the Leeds ownership in his openness, his candidness, his honesty and his speed in that deal. Leeds have signed Sinisterra, so effectively they’ve spent some of the money they were expecting from Raphinha and they’ve replaced him.”

In good hands
Chelsea have headed into the unknown after being taken over by Boehly this summer, but it looks as though the west London outfit are in good hands.
Indeed, it looks like Boehly is a savvy negotiator, and he’s convinced Leeds that Stamford Bridge would be the best destination for Raphinha.
Chelsea may not have made a signing yet this summer, but don’t be surprised if they end up landing a number of their top targets as Boehly seems to be thriving in his new role negotiating transfers for the Blues.
