Ian Wright was in full co-ordination with Paul Pogba about how Manchester United should utilise him following his exhibition for France last night.

Speaking on Wrighty’s House podcast, the former Arsenal striker discussed Pogba’s performance during his national side’s European Championship victory against Germany.

United’s midfielder swash buckled his way to the man of the match award, as France ran out 1-0 winners.

It was his delicious pass that found Theo Hernandez, whose subsequent cross forced Mats Hummel’s to score an own goal.

The 28-year-old’s energetic combination with N’Golo Kante and Adrien Rabiot out ran Germany’s weary pairing of Toni Kroos and Ilkay Gundogan.

Pogba looks a different proposition when playing internationally than he does at club level.

In an interview with L’Equipe, he explained this was down to the freedom he is afford with France, plus the licence he was allowed at Juventus.

Wright all along about Pogba

Wright completely agreed with this statement and urged Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to take notice.

He said: “There has to be a difference when you’re playing with (Andrea) Pirlo, (Claudio) Marchisio, (Arturo) Vidal, (Blaise) Matuidi; France you’re playing with Kante, Matuidi, Rabiot.

“There’s a difference. With all due respect to Fred and (Scott) McTominay, that is downgrading of player.

“What those guys give to Pogba is the freedom. Pogba is not a natural leader, he is an entertainer.

“It’s not very often you see Pogba get on the ball and knock it off. There’s something with it. Even the way he lays it off. There’s something. It’s garnish.

“You think to yourself; you have to put him into a situation where he doesn’t have to think about anything other than garnishing. That’s what Man United have to do.”

With Juve and France, Pogba has the space to express himself, thanks to those superstar names that surround him.

Defensively, the pressure is eased; instead, he can focus on impacting proceedings offensively.

At United, Solskjaer expects the £89m (BBC Sport) man to work on both sides of his game in equal measure.

Yesterday’s result proved that with the right people close by, Pogba is one of Europe’s most pleasing performers.
