Manchester United have swooped for a player they hope will become the team’s next midfield great

The club confirmed on their official website that they have sealed the signature of Paris Saint-Germain teenager Aliou Traore.

United immediately started him in their under-18 game at the weekend, and manager Kieran McKenna raved about his talent.

He told the club website that they have high hopes for the central midfielder.

He has been with United’s squad since the summer, but his move was only made official this weekend.

McKenna said: “Traore is a boy we’ve been looking at for a while.

“He is a really powerful midfielder who likes to run box to box. He is very strong technically and is improving all the time.

Sound familiar? Back in 2009, a powerfully built teenager called Paul Pogba left France to sign with United’s academy.

He has had a costly route into United’s first team, leaving for Juventus and then being bought back for a £89 million fee.

The Red Devils must take more care with Traore, and he is a name supporters must keen a close eye on.
