Leeds United face Bolton this weekend.

Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa walks to the dug out during the Sky Bet Championship match between Leeds United and Swansea City at Elland Road on February 13, 2019 in Leeds, England.

Leeds United’s promotion challenge has been hampered this season by injuries.

The two players signed for a combined £10 million, Patrick Bamford and Barry Douglas have spent months out injured, and key players throughout the side have been sidelined.

Luke Ayling, Liam Cooper, Stuart Dallas, Gaetano Berardi are among the players to miss substantial game time, stretching the squad to it’s limits.

The latest player due out is Kemar Roofe, for the second time this season.

Roofe is out for around eight weeks, the Yorkshire Evening Post report. It’s a blow for Leeds to lose their top scorer. Roofe has netted 14 times in 26 games.

So what about the good news?

The positive for Leeds United is that they might have finally caught a break facing Bolton Wanderers this weekend.

Bolton sit 23rd in the Championship and have lost three of their last five games.

Their recent matches against Leeds’ promotion rivals Norwich City and Sheffield United they have lost by a combined score of 6-0.

If Leeds were asked to pick an opponent for their first game without Roofe, Bolton would be near the top of the list.

As Leeds look to re-adjust without Roofe, they are playing the right team this weekend.

A 1-0 win would do for Leeds, but it could be a lot better.
