Leeds United were linked with a move for Blackburn Rovers star Bradley Dack in January.
Blackburn Rovers took a huge step toward Championship promotion on Thursday by beating Peterborough United 3-1 at Ewood Park.
Bradley Dack reminded League One why he was voted as the division’s Player of the Season by scoring twice in the win to make it 18 goals and seven assists this season.
At 24, Dack has a big future ahead of him and Leeds United could and should be kicking themselves that he isn’t at Elland Road.
Back in January, The Sun reported that Leeds were interested in signing Dack, who would have cost more than £4 million after Cardiff City saw a bid for that figure turned down.
The Whites, who sold Chris Wood for £15 million last summer, would have had to push the boat out, but he would have been worth every penny.
Of course, United could renew an interest this summer, but Rovers’ imminent promotion, coupled with his Player of the Year gong, means that his profile has spiked and signing him will be much harder than it would have been this past winter.
If he leaves Blackburn, Dack is going to command quite a sizeable transfer fee – one that only the richest Championship clubs can afford – and it’s looking increasingly like Leeds missed out on a fantastic player.
