Alex Wollerton was on Leeds United’s books for nine years.

It would appear as if Alex Wollerton has joined another club after leaving Leeds United.
The 19-year-old’s contract at Thorp Arch expired this summer and it seems like he has wasted no time in signing up elsewhere – to one of Leeds’ Yorkshire rivals.
Wollerton, who spent nine years on the Whites’ books, has stated in his bio on Instagram that he is now a Barnsley player.
A Twitter account dedicated to the next generation of United players has also sent a tweet to Wollerton and congratulated him on his transfer.
He isn’t the first teenager who Leeds have lost to a Championship club this summer, with Lucas Odunston also joining Hull City.
Wollerton had a trial with the Tigers earlier this year, and also played an Under-23 game for the Oakwell club in what perhaps precipitated the transfer.
It’ll be interesting to see whether the young midfielder features for the Tykes, who host Marcelo Bielsa’s side on September 14.
