Leeds United have been linked with a move for Juventus-owned forward Moise Kean.

According to a report from Gianluca Di Marzio earlier in the month, Leeds were eyeing up a potential summer move for Juventus forward Moise Kean as the Whites continue to try and bolster their ranks right through the age groups.

Kean has clearly been marked out as a potential star of the future for the Old Lady, having been handed his Champions League debut at the age of 16, while Hellas Verona have used the 17-year-old fairly regularly since signing him on loan in the summer.

The teenager went into Sunday’s clash with Fiorentina having previously made 15 Serie A appearances this season, scoring twice for the relegation-threatened side.

But he provided a glimpse of his quality to help Verona storm to a stunning surprise win against the Viola. Kean scored twice to help Verona seal a 4-1 victory that has taken the side to within three points of safety in top flight.

And perhaps this latest brace could potentially make Leeds’ task of trying to bring Kean to Elland Road in the summer much tougher.

If Kean is available in the summer, it seems highly unlikely that Leeds will be the only team interested in pulling off a deal. How many 17-year-old strikers are playing fairly regularly in a league with as much stature as Serie A?

The Whites may have perhaps hoped that with Kean yet to be prolific in front of goal, it may be slightly easier to win the race as it may have seemed to some as much more of a gamble to pursue a deal.

But with the starlet demonstrating in the win his ability to anticipate and get in the right position for the first goal and then his composure for the second, and doubling his tally for the season in the process, it would be a surprise if his display did not alert a lot more clubs.

If Leeds remain in the second tier, the Whites may feel that they may be able to suggest that moving to Elland Road will present him with the best chance to enjoy regular game-time. But with Kean playing and now scoring in Serie A, it may not be too long before he is expecting regular minutes at the highest level

So perhaps, if Kean manages to put in more of those displays before the season concludes, promotion may be required to give Leeds a real edge in the race to sign him.
