Leeds United, Celtic and West Bromwich Albion were reportedly interested in signing Marcus Maddison of Peterborough United in the summer transfer window.

Marcus Maddison was a man in demand in the summer transfer window, with Leeds United, Brendan Rodgers’s Celtic and West Bromwich Albion all reported to be interested in the Peterborough United star.

Back in August 2018, HITC Sport reported of interest from Championship trio Leeds, West Brom and Reading in Maddison, who is a very versatile footballer and can operate as a winger, attacking midfielder or left-back.

In April 2018, The Peterborough Telegraph reported of Celtic’s interest in the 25-year-old, who is one of the best players in League One in England.

Maddison has been playing well for Peterborough this season, with the attacker having provided three assists in 10 League One appearances for his side so far this campaign, according to Transfermarkt.com.

One suspects that Peterborough will get offers in the January transfer window for Maddison if he continues to play well, but Posh chairman Darragh MacAnthony has suggested on social networking site Twitter that the future of the 25-year-old is at ABAX Stadium.

Perhaps Leeds, Celtic and West Brom’s chances of signing Maddison are over, until next summer at least.
