The winger was linked with a move to Leeds United, who have since appointed his former Barnsley manager, last year.

Ryan Kent’s move from Liverpool to Bristol City in January arrived much to the disappointment of many Leeds United supporters.
Leeds had long been credited with interest in the 21-year-old, who shone for Barnsley in last season’s Championship – scoring or assisting six goals for the Tykes.
Subsequent spells at SC Freiburg and Bristol City, however, have failed to yield similar success, prompting Robins boss Lee Johnson to admit this week that Kent’s signing has “not worked out as we would have hoped”.

Johnson’s comments suggest that Kent – who has provided two assists in 10 games for Bristol City – could be on the move again this summer.
And given the attacking midfielder’s relationship with the current Leeds United manager – Paul Heckingbottom, who signed him and coaxed out his best form for Barnsley last season – Elland Road would be a likely destination if so.

Another incentive, perhaps, for Leeds to stick with their under fire boss, after recent links with Oli McBurnie – whom he also signed for Barnsley.
