Everton have been heavily linked with the Manchester United defender recently.

Jose Mourinho may have pushed Luke Shaw further in Everton’s direction, after his scathing criticism of the left-back for his performance against Brighton & Hove Albion in the FA Cup.
Shaw was hooked off at half-time as United laboured past Brighton to make it to the semi-finals.
Mourinho was in a frustrated mood after the match, and took his anger out on Shaw.
He said to The Sun: “Every player can play bad but when you see ‘please Mr, take me from the pitch’.
“Everytime they went in his corner, a cross was coming and I was not happy with his performance.”

Mourinho has had a turbulent relationship with the £30 million signing during his time at Old Trafford, and appears to have doubts over the England international.
Shaw had forced his way back into contention recently, but could be set for a spell on the sidelines again now.
And if Mourinho is being so tough on Shaw, a move away from Old Trafford could be more appealing.

Everton must be watching the situation keenly, as they have been linked heavily with the former Southampton man in the Daily Telegraph.
Everton are in need of a new left-back, as it has been a problem position for them this season.
And Mourinho’s comments may just make a potential switch to Goodison Park more eye-catching for Shaw.
