Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers are said to be on the verge of signing Brighton & Hove Albion man Conor Goldson.

And Brighton’s plan to buy Chester gives a further hint that Goldson could be departing for Glasgow soon.

If Goldson had stayed at Brighton there would have been little need for Chris Hughton’s side to even attempt to buy Chester.
But if Goldson does join Rangers, then Brighton could have a void at centre-back to fill in their squad.

Goldson has offered Brighton solid cover, but at Rangers, the 25-year-old is expected to go straight into Steven Gerrard’s line-up.
There is excitement at Ibrox about Goldson’s potential, and with Rangers needing additions at the back, he could help to tighten up Gerrard’s side’s backline for next season.
