Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers have been linked with Liverpool forward Dominic Solanke throughout the summer, with Steven Gerrard keen on the striker.
According to the Daily Express, Liverpool have no interest in loaning out Harry Wilson to Scotland – and if that is the case, then Glasgow Rangers are surely set to be disappointed in the chase for Dominic Solanke.
Rangers have been heavily linked with Solanke throughout the summer so far, with the Scottish Sun suggesting that Steven Gerrard wants the striker at Ibrox.
Rangers also were keen on Wilson, but Liverpool have decided that Scotland is not the right place for the youngster to develop.
And that decision surely raises question marks over how Rangers will persuade them to part company with Solanke.
Rangers have, of course, taken Ovie Ejaria from Liverpool for a season, but he is some way from starting for Jurgen Klopp’s side.
Solanke, on the other hand, played fairly regularly at Anfield last season, and if they don’t think that a move to Glasgow will benefit Wilson, then they are highly unlikely to think that Solanke would be aided from moving to Rangers.
As a result it may be wise for Gerrard to look towards other targets, as his hopes of signing Solanke have surely taken a major blow, due to Liverpool’s reported reluctance to loan players to north of the border.
