Celtic are once again linked with Nick Powell, but is it too late?
The Sun have reported that Celtic are planning to renew an interest in Nick Powell when the January transfer window opens.
Celtic were linked with a move for the £5 million-rated Wigan Athletic playmaker toward the end of the summer window [Team Talk].
But is it already too late for the Hoops?
This is a 24-year-old with three goals and three assists in seven Championship appearances.
By January, his record could and probably will be significantly better than it is now, meaning that Celtic won’t be the only club sniffing around.
In fact, it isn’t hugely unlikely that there may even be some Premier League interest in the former Manchester United man, if he continues in the same vein.
And if that’s the case then the Bhoys boss Brendan Rodgers will find it very difficult to beat a Premier League side to his signature.
It seems like Celtic’s best chance of signing Powell has already come and gone.
