It is often difficult for January signings to come in and make an immediate impact, but Weah is proving to be an exception.
His performances are made even better by the fact he is just 18-years-old and playing in a new league.
The US international is already making an impact and is likely to get more starts with Odsonne Edouard picking up an injury.
Edouard is a doubt for Celtic’s midweek fixture against Hibernian, with Brendan Rodgers telling BBC Sport he ‘hopes’ the Frenchman will be fit.
If he can’t make it, then Weah’s form suggests he is more than ready to step in.
While it won’t be possible for Edouard to sustain his current scoring rate, he is on course to reach double figures easily by the end of the season.
He looks an astute signing by Celtic, and if Jermain Defoe had this type of start at Rangers, it would be getting a lot more attention than the contribution Weah has made.
