Celtic boss Neil Lennon was believed to be eager to bring in Rekeem Harper from West Bromwich Albion.

Celtic’s treatment of Oliver Burke may just cost them in the chase of West Bromwich Albion’s Rekeem Harper.

The Daily Record have suggested that Celtic thought that they were closing in on Harper, even though they have plenty of competition for the West Brom youngster.

And it may be that their treatment of Burke has not helped them in the race for the midfielder.

West Brom chief Luke Dowling has hit out at Celtic for the way that they used Burke during his loan spell at Parkhead, as reported by the Scotsman.

West Brom felt that Celtic didn’t give Burke the best chance to impress after Neil Lennon took charge.

The attacker’s spell with the Bhoys may well just put doubts in Harper’s mind over a move to Scotland now.

West Brom cannot stop Celtic talking to Harper, as he is heading out of contract, but they can advise him not to move to Lennon’s side.

And Celtic could be on the back foot now, as they try to prise Harper away from the Hawthorns.
