Nottingham Forest could well be planning for life without Aston Villa target Joe Lolley.

Nottingham Forest’s move for Gavin Whyte at Oxford United may just suggest that they are starting to plan for life without Joe Lolley.
Lolley has been heavily linked with a move to Aston Villa ever since Dean Smith’s side were promoted, with The Sun on Sunday (02/06, page 59) suggesting that Forest want £15 million for their star winger.
It now seems that Forest are in the market for Whyte at Oxford (Sunday Life Sport, back page, 02/06), and that may just suggest that Lolley is heading towards the exit door.
Whyte looks like a different type of player to Lolley, but the pair play in exactly the same position.

Martin O’Neill may also look for a more experienced recruit to replace Lolley, but Whyte could well be an option for the future.
The Northern Ireland international looks like a hugely bright prospect, and he has impressed at both Oxford and on the international stage.
Whyte is still only 23, so he has room to develop, and if he did join Forest to replace Lolley then he would have massive boots to fill next season.
