Celtic supporters have been left frustrated with their side’s failure to win either of their last two matches.
Celtic paid £1.6 million to sign Elhamed in the summer from Hapoel Be’er Sheva (Record), and he has quickly gone on to impress in Glasgow.
The defender’s performances have been very solid, but Celtic’s form has recently dipped.
Neil Lennon’s men have failed to win either of their last two league games, with Rangers now above them in the table.
Celtic fans have been left very frustrated with their side, and their criticism has been heard by the players.
Elhamed has no complaints about Celtic supporters though, as he feels that the pressure they are putting the team under is justified.
“This is life at a big club. Every game is important and there are big goals. We want to win everything so when one game is finished you must focus on the next,” he said.
“The intensity is a little bit different from Be’er Sheva but that was also a big club in Israel, with many fans and big goals.
“Every game you play at Celtic is big and fans have the right to react to a result however they want.
“That’s what happens at a club like this, the supporters expect a lot. We need to be professional and focus on the next game.
“We need to show our character and mentality to send 60,000 fans home happy.”
The recognition from the players that Celtic haven’t been good enough, should encourage Lennon that they can turn their form around quickly.
The Bhoys have only suffered a mini blip, after actually making a fairly impressive start to the campaign.
The Bhoys are next in action against Ross County at the weekend, when getting the three points will be considered a must for Lennon’s men.
