Former Burton Albion and Queens Park Rangers boss Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink was asked on The Noel Whelan Show on BBC Radio Leeds last Friday (broadcast from 6pm, February 10) whether he would be open to managing Leeds United in the future.

Hasselbaink is without a managerial job at the moment following his departure from Championship club QPR in November 2016.

The former Netherlands international striker played for Leeds in the late 1990s and is very popular among the club’s fans.

The 44-year-old, though, would not be drawn on whether he is open to the idea of managing the Elland Road outfit in the future.

“Look, look, Leeds is a massive club, it’s a big club, it’s in good hands at the moment with Garry Monk,” said Hasselbaink on The Noel Whelan Show on BBC Radio Leeds last Friday (broadcast from 6pm, February 10) when asked if he would like to manage Leeds in the future.

“It would be very disrespectful for me to talk about those kinds of things, but Leeds is a big club, you know, and hopefully he can bring them where they belong.”

Leeds appointed Garry Monk in the summer of 2016 following the departure of Steve Evans at the end of the 2015-16 season.

The West Yorkshire outfit are going strong under Monk and are in the running for the playoffs this season.

Even if the Whites fail to end up in the top six of the Championship this campaign, it is hard to see the club parting company with the former Swansea City manager.
