Jeff Stelling has stated that Eddie Howe’s relationship with Newcastle winger Ryan Fraser ‘hasn’t worked out’ previously, as he told Sky Sports (06/11/21 at 1:25 pm).
The Sky presenter shared that when Fraser and Howe were at Bournemouth it ‘didn’t end on the best of terms’.
Fraser left the Cherries on a free transfer, prior to his move to Newcastle, and didn’t play for the club after project restart when the coronavirus hit.
That didn’t go down well with Bournemouth fans because that’s when they were trying to survive in the Premier League.
And when Stelling was told that Howe will need to get the best out of the Newcastle players, including Fraser, he issued this response.
“I think it hasn’t worked out in the past, I don’t think,” said Stelling. “They didn’t end on the best of terms.”

Fraser isn’t the only Newcastle player that Howe has worked with because he also took Matt Ritchie and Callum Wilson’s game to the next level during his time at Dean Court.
That’s going to be key because he understands their game already and they need a quick-fix.
The Magpies are the only team without a win in the Premier League and they need three points, however they get them, as soon as possible.
But this international break is going to be key for all involved now because it gives Howe a chance to work with his players without any interruptions.
