Some Leeds United fans have taken to Twitter to give their reaction to comments from Graeme Souness after the match against Liverpool at the weekend.
Leeds suffered a 4-3 defeat at the hands of Liverpool away from home at Anfield in the Premier League on Saturday evening.
The Whites gave the Reds a run for their money and made them work hard for the three points.
Liverpool legend Souness was following the match for Sky Sports, and after the game, he gave his take on the performance of the West Yorkshire outfit.
Souness told Sky Sports: “For 80 minutes, Leeds were fantastic. But in the last 10, Liverpool pinned them back and it was only a matter of time before someone made a mistake or someone came up with a piece of brilliance.
“But Leeds have made a real statement tonight. I wonder if they’ve got a big enough squad as they surely can’t play like that every time as it was some effort.”
Some Leeds fans were not impressed with the Liverpool legend saying that the Whites will not be able to play with the same intensity throughout the season, as shown in the following posts on Twitter.
Under head coach Marcelo Bielsa, the Whites played with a similar intensity and high-pressing game from start to finish last season, and won the Championship title.
There are fewer games in the Premier League than in the Championship, and players will get more rest between matches as well.
