Southampton seem to be a totally different team under the guidance of the former RB Leipzig manager.
Southampton boss Ralph Hasenhüttl admitted that he has been really impressed by his players’ ability to quickly learn from their mistakes, when speaking to reporters, as quoted by the Daily Echo.
The Austrian has made a huge impact at St Mary’s since taking over as manager at the start of last month, and his Saints side now sit in 15th spot in the Premier League table, three points clear of the drop zone.
Southampton now have every chance of retaining their Premier League status for at least one more season, and the club’s fans have Hasenhüttl’s influence to thank for that.
The 51-year-old insisted that it has been his players’ willingness and ability to learn from their previous errors that has enabled them to turn the corner, however, as quoted by the Daily Echo:
“We did it a huge time, and from Wednesday to Saturday when you can’t train the video session is the main part to get prepared, show them where we have deficits. It’s really interesting and I am glad it seems they know exactly what to do in the next game. They showed they learn out of mistakes, they make it once and not twice, and that gives me a lot of hope we can build a better performance.”
Southampton are not in action again until January 30th, when they welcome Crystal Palace to St Mary’s, and Hasenhüttl’s side will be extremely confident of chalking up their third successive victory in the Premier League.
And if they manage to do just that, the south coast club will be in a great position from which to avoid relegation.
