West Ham United striker Marko Arnautovic hasn’t scored a Premier League goal since January 2nd since flirting with a move to China.

West Ham United striker Marko Arnautovic is expected to bid farewell this summer – but it is his own fault that a move to Manchester United is no longer on the cards.

A £24 million signing from Stoke City in 2017, the firebrand Austrian recovered from a slow start to enjoy an impressive debut season at the London Stadium, scoring 11 Premier League goals under Slaven Bilic and David Moyes.

But the one time fans’ favourite is anything but these days. After publicly flirting with a £200,000 a week move to China during the January transfer window, Arnautovic’s form has dropped alarmingly over the last few months.

The former Inter Milan and Wolfsburg forward hasn’t found the net in England’s top flight since a 2-0 win against Brighton on January 2nd.

As a result, it seems very unlikely that any of the Premier League’s big hitters will take a chance on Arnautovic now. The Mirror claimed in August that Manchester United wanted to sign him in January after expressing an interest last summer with West Ham demanding £50 million for their then-prized asset.

Arnautovic has often been his own worst enemy in an erratic playing career and it seems that he has now cost himself the biggest move of his life.

Manchester United are still in need for another attacker and Arnautovic could fit in on the right hand side of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side. But with his attitude in question once again, there is no chance Solskjaer would want a player who could pose a threat to the new-found positivity he has brought to Old Trafford.
