One defeat and Tottenham ace is looking back.

Tottenham Hotspur had been chasing down Liverpool hoping to get into the title race.
A defeat to Manchester United at the weekend should not necessarily change the players’ outlook.
Goalkeeper Hugo Lloris says now that he is focused on ensuring Tottenham finish in the top four.
He told the Evening Standard: “”We are still involved in four competitions but the main thing is to finish in the top four.
“We have said that from the beginning and we have not changed our mind.Everyone is talking about the teams in front of us, but it is important to keep an eye on the teams behind because in football things can change very quickly.
“It is important to stay consistent and focus on the main things.”

Lloris’ comments are practical, and spoken like a player who has been at Tottenham for several seasons and is in his comfort zone.
Has he given up already on helping Tottenham to the title?
After one loss, the mentality should not change so suddenly. If Tottenham want to be the league’s best, they must start thinking and acting that way.
Perhaps the injury to Harry Kane has changed Tottenham’s outlook, but the danger is, if Tottenham start looking backwards down the table and keep worrying, they will slip up further.
Being caught up is a very real possibility and Spurs are right to be alert to it, but if the players publicly talk up this fear, it could hurt them.
Lloris would be better off still looking forward and vowing Tottenham will fight back and put a run together and come back to challenge Liverpool and Manchester City. It is only January after all.
Tottenham may need to replace Lloris’ sketchy on-pitch performances and replace him with a more fearless goalkeeper, on and off the pitch.
