Leeds are interested in signing Manchester United striker James Wilson on loan but Aston Villa are also wanting to delve into the loan market.

Aston Villa would no doubt love to splash the cash in order to sign a replacement for the stricken Jonathan Kodjia in January.
But as owner Tony Xia has pointed out, Financial Fair Restrictions means Villa’s hands are tied. They were forced to limit their spending to less than £3 million in the summer and it seems that the purse strings will be tightened again in the New Year.
Though there is one way around this issue – the loan market.
“In terms of strengthening, everyone knows that for January we have the FFP to look at. But very possibly we will bring in a couple of loans to strengthen our squad,” Xia told the Villa official website.

James Wilson is someone who should be on Villa’s radar then. Per The Sun, the Manchester United striker is eyeing a temporary move away from Old Trafford in January after a combination of injuries and the signing of Romelu Lukaku forced him further down the pecking order.
Jose Mourinho does not appear to see Wilson in his first-team plans right now and is unlikely to stand in his way if an offer comes his way. A Leeds United side relying on the inconsistent Pierre-Michel Lasogga and the unproven Jay-Roy Grot and Caleb Ekuban for goals are reportedly interested in a striker who has spent time in the Championship already with Brighton and Derby County.

The 21-year-old looks to be fully fit and firing after a serious injury wrecked his spell at Derby last season, firing in five goals in his last five games for United’s Under-23s.
But will Leeds have competition in the shape of a cash-strapped Aston Villa side who have lost their talismanic striker for the next few months with injury?
