Bailey Peacock-Farrell made a costly mistake for Leeds United against Birmingham City in the Championship on Saturday, and perhaps that will allow Chelsea-owned goalkeeper Jamal Blackman the chance he needs.

One of the most encouraging stories for Leeds United since the second half of last season has been the emergence of Bailey Peacock-Farrell.
Peacock-Farrell established himself as the first-choice goalkeeper for Leeds forwards the back-end of last season, and the Northern Ireland international has been the number one between the posts in the Championship for Marcelo Bielsa’s side so far this campaign.
However, the 21-year-old goalkeeper was at fault for Birmingham City’s opening goal against Leeds at Elland Road in the Championship on Saturday afternoon.
It was a costly mistake, as the Whites went on to lose 2-1, and it will give encouragement to Jamal Blackman.
Blackman joined Leeds on loan from Chelsea in the summer transfer window after a very successful loan spell at Sheffield United last season.

The 24-year-old goalkeeper – who earns £13,000 per week as salary, according to The Sun – has yet to appear in the Championship this season.
While head coach Bielsa may not drop Peacock-Farrell after one mistake, it has certainly enhanced Blackman’s chances of breaking into the Leeds first team.
