Tanguy Ndombele will not feature again for Tottenham this season because of injury.

That means Spurs may have to face up to the idea that their record signing may have already played his last game for the club.

Corrierre dello Sport, via TeamTalk, report that Spurs have been offered a swap deal by Inter Milan involving Ndombele and Marcelo Brozovic.

The two clubs recently did business over Christian Eriksen, so there’s clearly a relationship there.

Football.London report that it’s on Ndombele to agitate for a move away from north London if he wants one.

It all depends on the 23-year-old’s attitude in pre-season; towards getting fit from injury and being the type of player Jose Mourinho wants.

Mourinho proved himself incapable of inspiring improvement out of Paul Pogba at Manchester United, in a similar situation where a talented, unpredictable midfielder clashed with the Portuguese manager.

Perhaps Tottenham would be unwilling to let their record signing go for straight cash, but getting in a ready-made replacement – especially if Mourinho approves – may appeal.

Either way, there is the prospect that the Ndombele experiment is over after just one season and life without Tottenham’s record signing has already begun.
