Steven Gerrard may have put Graham Dorrans’ future at Glasgow Rangers into doubt, by targeting Steven Davis.

According to the back page of Scottish Daily Express (16/10), Rangers are set to move for Southampton’s Davis in the January transfer window.

And if Davis was to arrive then Dorrans’ time at Ibrox would surely be coming to an end.

Dorrans has already struggled for game time this season, with the 31-year-old playing just three times across all competitions.

And if Davis arrives then competition for places is only set to become even fiercer.

Davis is a midfielder in the same mould as Dorrans, as the pair are both technically gifted and able to play just off the striker, if required.

But Gerrard may feel that Davis would be an upgrade on his current options, and if the Southampton man does move to Rangers in January, then it would surely be bad news for Dorrans’ chances at Ibrox.
