Glasgow Rangers defender Lee Wallace’s future is currently up in the air, but Steven Gerrard may have just offered him a lifeline.

Gerrard has taken charge of Rangers for the first time this week, with the Light Blues currently out in Spain.
Wallace is actually not on the trip, after his well documented fall out with Graeme Murty last term.
However, Gerrard has suggested that everyone at Rangers will be given a fresh start under his leadership.

And that could mean that Wallace does have a chance to making it back into Rangers’ plans yet.
“What’s important for me is that I’ll judge everyone with a blank piece of paper,” Gerrard said.
“There are places there up for grabs and I’ll know pretty soon who wants them.
“You have to earn them. It won’t just be given to them any more.
“Reputations and names, it’s not about that. It’s about the best players who are going to get results for us.”

Wallace has also struggled with injury lately, so there is a chance that he has been left out of Rangers’ training, simply because he isn’t fit.
If Wallace does return to the fold at Rangers it would bolster Gerrard’s defensive options.
Andy Halliday filled in at left-back during Wallace’s time on the sidelines towards the end of last season, but he did a poor job for Rangers, and never looked comfortable in the position.
