Sol Bamba joined Cardiff City in the summer of 2016 after leaving Leeds United at the end of the 2015-16 season.

Bamba joined Cardiff in the summer of 2016 following his departure from Championship rivals Leeds United at the end of the 2015-16 season.
The Ivory Coast international central defender initially joined Leeds on loan from Italian club Palermo in January 2015.
Neil Redfearn was in charge of Leeds at the time, and the former Paris Saint-Germain prospect played well for the Whites during the second half of the 2014-15 campaign.

Bamba’s move to Leeds was made permanent in the summer of 2015, but a year later he was off.
The former Hibernian centre-back played against Leeds for Cardiff City at the Cardiff City Stadium in the Championship on Tuesday evening.
The defender has said that it was emotional for him to play against the Whites, but he seems to have suggested a reason why he did not fare as well as he could have at Elland Road.
Bamba has started that he feels at home at Cardiff where he has taken his game to another level and has established himself as one of the best centre-backs in the Championship.

Yeah it was emotional,” Bamba told Cardiff’s official website on September 29, 2017 about playing against Leeds.
“I played for three years at Leeds and I still have lots of friends there, but obviously when the game gets going I just want to win the game for Cardiff City.”
“Yesterday me and my wife were talking about buying something here, so it definitely feels like home,” added Bamba.
“I think I needed that, because when I get comfortable I realise how lucky I am. I’ve had a very good experience everywhere I’ve been, like Scotland, Turkey and Italy.
“I’m under pressure from the family who don’t want me to move again! I think we’re going to settle here, hopefully we can have a good season and some good years to come.”
