Aston Villa have been strongly linked with a move for the Sheffield Wednesday midfielder.

Sheffield Wednesday’s Sean Clare has deleted an Instagram post in which he mentioned an Aston Villa player.
Clare is out of contract at Wednesday and has been strongly linked with a move to Villa, whose defender Jacob Bedeau was tagged in the 21-year-old’s ‘story’ update.
Clare’s post read: “Nobody will get this right…. You are sleeping and are hungry, and you have butter, cheese and baloney in the fridge.
“What’s the first thing you will open?
“I lost to @jacobbedeau
“The answer is too dumb”.

In a follow-up post, which was also removed, the Wednesday midfielder wrote: “Had to take it down but it was for sure not the fridge (two laughing faces) nonsense”.

It is unclear how long the pair, who are both from London, have been friends, although there is a chance they first came into contact at Bury in 2016.
Clare spent time on loan with the Shakers towards the end of the 2015-16 season, while Bedeau arrived at Gigg Lane on trial at some point prior to July that year – six months before Aston Villa signed the 18-year-old for a reported fee in the region of £900,000.
However, while there may be a completely innocent reason behind Clare’s tagging of Bedeau, the fact the Sheffield Wednesday player claims he had to ‘take down’ the post certainly raises suspicion – and suggests that someone associated with Clare would rather it did not fall into the hands of a football website such as this one.
